Giona Ostinelli composed a “fuzzy, thudding, looping electro-classical soundtrack of feedback noise” (Variety) for the 2017 SXSW Grand Jury Award nominee LIKE ME starring Addison Timlin and Larry Fessenden. The film is centered around a ferocious young woman so compelled to create online sensations that they drive her insane. After posting a video of herself robbing a convenience store, Kiya amasses a huge social media following. A reckless loner, she seeks some form of genuine human connection. Through her travels, she encounters a drifter, an Internet troll and a paint huffing outsider who are all pulled into her circle of chaos, junk food, and drugs. In a world of fabricated personalities, Kiya is intent on exposing something gutturally truthful about humanity, but ultimately, she must confront herself.

"The shots freeze, stutter and meld together to Giona Ostinelli’s fuzzy, thudding, looping electro-classical soundtrack of

feedback noise"

Variety
"Layered on top like glass-laden birthday cake icing is Giona Ostinelli's mix of portentous drones and hypnotic ambient compositions, a glimmering soundtrack fit for this otherworldly trip to the other side of oblivion"
Birth. Movies. Death.
"Composer Giona Ostinelli, who also did the honors on Mickey Keating’s Darling and Carnage Park, provides just the right, discordant musical accompaniment. Like Me may be a deep dive into the insanity fostered by our personal devices, but it’s accomplished enough to reward viewing on the big screen"
Rue Morgue

“The wicked music comes courtesy of Giona Ostinelli”

Bloody Disgusting

“The film is most alive in the moments when Giona Ostinelli’s score builds a dreamy sense of doom under the stillness”

Cut Print Film

"The flowing and electric camera work pairs so wonderfully with Swiss composer Giona Ostinelli’s intense score"
