"The biggest challenge facing The Mist was finding a way to make the intangible scary, something that was nailed thanks in part to composer Giona Ostinelli.... From the unusual sounds used to convey the mist's otherworldly threat to the fragile compositions that represent each character's struggle to survive, Ostinelli's score played a pivotal role in bringing The Mist to life.... In a stroke of genius, Ostinelli took a different approach here to make this unusual "figure" stand out musically... Conventional use of instruments would not have fully conveyed the ethereal presence of the mist, so Ostinelli made some bold choices in his approach... He has crafted something very special here."
Movie Pilot
"The Mist is fascinating and addictive composition, a superb score on its own and one of the most affecting parts of the show in context. Once again Giona Ostinelli delivers an exceptional composition. The Mist is a complex and complete score that you shouldn’t miss under any circumstances"
Film Music Critics Association
"The effects-rich score by composers Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli... puts us in her head during intense scenes and starts allowing scraps of dialogue that challenge the morality of her judge-jury-executioner agenda."
The Hollywood Reporter
“Delightful diversity of the composer’s palette… Right away, that’s the aura of Giona: an innovator. He seems to have “surprise” coded into his DNA”

“Natural talent born out of passion Giona developed from an early age”
The Examiner
“Carnage Park’s score is full of unnerving dissonance, fueling the sense of dread... But for all the off-kilter instrumentation and recording techniques, Ostinelli always keeps a notion of harmony and
melody underneath the surface”

The Hollywood Reporter
“The musical numbers by Giona Ostinelli are insanely catchy”
Playbill

“A soundtrack alternating among ambient Lynchian strains and snatches of hard-core rock”
The New York Times
"Giona Ostinelli’s alarming score here is set to stun, amplifying simple sequences into the stuff of shrill horrorshow; every movement is accompanied by an “off” sting, a loud slam of percussion, an atonal screech. The ultimate effect is like having the most hideous of hangovers, where every soft sound splits your skull open. Of course, Ostinelli’s soundscape isn’t all attack, there’s some lovely piano passages and Jerry Goldsmith-influenced percussion pieces that are incredibly evolved, daring and unique..."
